160 Euro Smartbot platform turns your Windows Phone into a Robot
http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WmPowerUser/~3/EcGopTHgoxQ/
"Here is a rather innovative idea. Smartbot is a robotic platform featuring a variety of motors, sensors and extensibility that uses your smartphone as both its brains and also to increase the number of sensors it offers, such as GPS, accelerometer, NFC, cameras for navigation and so forth.
The smartphone communicates with the platform via the audio port, making it compatible with all major platforms, including Windows Phone. The platform is also extensible via Arduino-style dev boards.
The creators envision the device having multiple uses, ranging from education to battlebot.
See a schematic of the device and its features after the break.
The platform can be ordered now for delivery in April. Read more at the OverDrive website here.

ViralSearch presents the data in an interactive timeline of events, making it easy to see exactly when a particular piece of content’s popularity peaks. The project also allows you to search for phrases, stories, or even Twitter users…

Microsoft SketchInsight lets you build a story with interactive sketches
"Microsoft is putting its SketchInsight interactive whiteboard system on display at the company’s TechFest event this week. Designed as a system for storytelling, SketchInsight is a prototype project straight out of Microsoft’s research labs. SketchInsight simply lets you tell a story using interactive sketches on a whiteboard. In Microsoft’s demonstration the company shows how you could use this to present a story by drawing sketches that turn into animations.
The system can mine data from a database and suggest options for charts, diagrams, and other visualizations. It’s really about presenting data in a meaningful way. Microsoft has clearly analysed traditional meeting scenarios with spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations and has…
